Dell Laptop time drift

I have a Dell C610 Laptop running RedHat 8.0 and I am noticing that the time drifts a lot on the system. It is losing 20-30 minutes in an 8 hour period. Does anyone know what might be happening here?

I am trying to use ntp, but I don't seem to be getting regular updates. It looks like it only gets a time sync once when the service starts, but does nothing with it after that.
