Dell 2600 PERC4/Di RAID Spanned vs. Striped

Hello,

I have a Dell 2600 with a PERC4/Di RAID controller.
I want to do RAID 10 with 6, 36 gig hard drives. (1+0)
In the RAID BIOS I set a new configuration.
Disk0 and Disk1 = mirrored pair1
Disk2 and Disk3 = mirrored pair2
Disk4 and Disk5 = mirrored pair3

I then only have an option to "SPAN = YES/NO" across these.

So, In setup I see my undefined drives.
I select 2 drives, enter.
I select another 2 drives, enter.
I select another 2 drives, enter.
Press F10 and call pair 1, 2 & 3 volume 1, 2, & 3.
then it asks me if I want to SPAN (NOT Stripe, which is what I want).... I choose yes.
I see 1 logical drive when I install ESXI at about 104ish GB in size.

Is this RAID 10? Can I loose 1 drive from each mirrored pair & still run?

Yeah that's raid 10.

I'd do some benchmarking before you go expecting that perc4 to perform though.

I've not had a perc4 but I've had perc3's perc5's and cerc cards and performance on all of them is beyond dire.

Great! Thanks for the reply. Other than the original problem, everything seems to be working fine.
