dell poweredge 2600 dvd

I have a dell poweredge 2600 running RHEL 3 it has the DVD/floppy combo. When I first got the machine it worked fine. Now when it boots up it says now floppy device installed. There is also no setting in my fstab any more for the floppy or DVD. It is now running RHEL 3 update 2. The bios says the floppy and cdrom/DVD are set to auto.

can anyone point me in the right direction to getting them both back.
