Hi,
I'm a newbie to Linux, and to Debian. I've been trying to get my IOMega Zip drive to work on Debian. The BIOS recgonizes it's there, but... hmm... I try to make a shortcut, but Debian doesn't seem to know it's there.... Anyway here are some more details:
* I have an internal 100 IOMega Zip drive.
* I noticed in the Boot process in Debian, it says right after it detects my CDRW drive, it says IDE_DETECT module not found. This is probably the problem right there. How do I get a IDE_DETECT module in there?
* I installed Debian with a 2.4 kernal, but I'm running it with a 2.6 kernal (the Debian doesn't recognize the Zip drive with either).
I guess if I can get the silly thing to recognize an IDE_DETECT module it should detect the Zip Drive. I also have Win2000 installed and I was able to use the Zip Drive on that. So, I know that the Zip Drive does work.
I had a look at other problems with Zip Drives, but I don't think they addressed the exact problem I have. Unless I missed something. Apologies for asking the same question 2x.
Thanks alot to anyone who can remotely help me. Kind regards,
Matthew
