Debian 2 recognize Internal IOMega Zip??

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Linux, and to Debian. I've been trying to get my IOMega Zip drive to work on Debian. The BIOS recgonizes it's there, but... hmm... I try to make a shortcut, but Debian doesn't seem to know it's there.... Anyway here are some more details:

* I have an internal 100 IOMega Zip drive.
* I noticed in the Boot process in Debian, it says right after it detects my CDRW drive, it says IDE_DETECT module not found. This is probably the problem right there. How do I get a IDE_DETECT module in there?
* I installed Debian with a 2.4 kernal, but I'm running it with a 2.6 kernal (the Debian doesn't recognize the Zip drive with either).

I guess if I can get the silly thing to recognize an IDE_DETECT module it should detect the Zip Drive. I also have Win2000 installed and I was able to use the Zip Drive on that. So, I know that the Zip Drive does work.

I had a look at other problems with Zip Drives, but I don't think they addressed the exact problem I have. Unless I missed something. Apologies for asking the same question 2x.

Thanks alot to anyone who can remotely help me. Kind regards,
Matthew

Ok... I don't think it is the IDE_DETECT thing that's the problem. I think I just have to figure out to get it so that I can use the - hdd device. Which the IO Mega is plugged into.

How do you configure through the console, to set it up so you can make a link to a drive. Because at the moment I'm not able to make a link to the IO_Mega drive. But the system knows it's there. But doesn't let me create a short cut to it. Anyways... Does this make sence?
