Contract and Bightness control OR iris control for Logitech Communicate STX webcam

After a bit if a struggle, I got this camera working. It's putting out captures to a personal web site. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the brightness? Permit me to explain...

Up here the days are getting longer and now by say 8:30 am to near sunset the picture is just a white screen with no detail because there is too much light. Any way to adjust for that.

The camera points to the ENE and there is no direct sunlight into the camera lens.

Any hints or help are alway greatly appreciated.
