Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Component Compatibility

Hi, I'm building a new system and would like to know if my components have a good track record of being friendly with Linux. Where can I find this out? Is there a database? Here are the basic specs:

MOB Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI w/ Athlon X2
RAM DDR-400 PC3200 - Corsair Value or XMS
VID Nvidia Geforce 6800XT

Thanks!

Hi,

Might I suggest you look at the HCL on LQ or look at google for your hardware to compare to other Hardware lists.

HTH!

Just scroll on up towards the top of the webpage you are looking at right now. To the navigation bar that says "Home Forums HCL Reviews..."

HCL is what you want. Stands for "Hardware Compatibility List".
