Choppy mouse question?

I am using Debian Sid with XFree 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 in KDE 3.2.2 and the mouse moves very fast and shakes a little sometimes even when I am holding it still. Is there anything I can do to change this?

I am using a Targus usb connected mouse.

Thanks
