Question calling all linux guru's

ok guys i have read the posts in here about how to compile, configure and mount / unmount usb storeage devices. ok so im pretty sure the this question has been asked some where b4. but i am not a programme, and the talk of changing the kernel, compiling this file or that file is to be quite frank greek to me. i will after time most likely become profiecient at compiling new kernels and new hardware drivers to use on my chosen linux platform which happens to be RH 8.0. the fact still remains that i would like to use my usb storeage equipment with linux now, not in 9 mo. to year after studying how to program linux. this is why microsoft has an advantage over linux / unix because it is very user friendly, ie pulg and play no compiling of a new windows registry, or having to write your own programs in order to use commercially made hardware. that being said i would like to know if anyone knows where to obtain drivers for usb devices such as pny multislot card reader writer model #us5y2e01

if someone knows of say an rpm which will add support to my redhat installation i would be appreciative of any info.

ps dont ake my coments about microsoft as being a windows is better that linux/unix jab, it is just a fact that windows does basically support almost every piece of hardware made and all that is needed to use them is to install a driver. this one simple step is what makes windows more popular to use fro people who are not " geeks" this is one thing that linux/unix should very much incorporate into thier os'es.

if people want to learn to compile kernels, code and other programs they will do it, but to make new users go through having to esentially become programers overnight will drive people into microsofts arms in a heart beat.

any way enuff of my ranting and raving as i said if anyone knows of an alredy compiled driver in am rpm format for RH 8.0 please let me know
thanx for taking the tie to read this.

This was my search on www.google.com/linux - it's a bit broad, maybe you can narrow it down.
