beep on exceed

I ran exceed to show the xterm on a remote server,
but when I enter backspace on it, I got the beep sound.

Is there any way to turn off the beep sound?
(this is just like the alert sound, if we fail to start a computer.)

thanks.

xset -b (may want to put this in your .profile file)
or
for exceed you can press (on the shell itself) <ctrl> + <mouse middle/third button> and click Visual Bell Enabled.

turn on the visual bell on each instance of the shell window. To do this you will need to press and hold ctrl + mouse middle button .. this will have a menu pop up .. go down to Visual Bell Enabled and release the above mentioned keys .. thus turning on the visual bell.

This means your shell will flash instead of beeping.

This of course is assuming you have a 3-buttoned mouse.
