Exceed and Suse

Greetings all, this is my first post, hence noob.

Just got a fresh install of suse 8, I am trying to get exceed to connect from my wintel box.

I can ping the box, but no telnet..

Any help would be great..

Cheers.

you probably need to turn on the telnet service, which on RH9 would be as simple as typing "serviceconf" and selecting telnet, but i'm not sure about suse

chkconfig telnet on
service telnet start

(might want to make sure telnetd is installed)

chkconfig --list | grep telnet

or rpm -qa | grep telnet
