Backup Restore to new PC

I am trying to find a simple solution for this. I have an existing Linux box (FC4) that is housing some third party apps (MySQL, PHP); I would like to move this entire install over to a different server; or better yet a Virtual Machine.

I have not been able to find any documentation for what I am looking to do. In the windoze world I would simply use True Image or Ghost; however when I try Ghost or Ghost 4 *NIX the system will not boot properly.

Any help would be gratly appreciated.

It might be worthwhile looking at dar or kdar, save to CD or DVD and install distro then restore the backup. Bit more work than Ghost solution though. You may also need to copy stuff from CD/DVD backup to hard drive first before doing the restoration.

Just curious how did you try to do the Ghost restore? I've used it ok from a ftp server.

Cheers
