I'm using Sound Blaster live 24bit and it shows up as SB LS. I don't think thats the problem cause it all works fine, but when running teamspeak on oss /dev/dsp i lose audio when I start up America's Army game. Any suggestions on how to get sound on both at once?

I've become a full convert from Windows, so far I'm loving it now that I've got all the programs I want and have no further use for Windows. If I get this sound issue solved, I can enjoy my gaming experience.

i don't understand what you want.

r u saying that when you play that certain game, that the game sound works, but your system sound stops?

what r u using, kde, gnome..

i think some sound programs either shut down the local sound server, or they won't play sound when the sound server is on (the sound server is the program that runs your normal system sounds).

when you say 'duplex', what r u referring to... i think duplex with sound cards means (normally) the ability of the card to send and receive at the same time... but i'm not possitive about that.
