here, it looks like what we're doing here isn't direclty supported in FC3. I haven'f found out anything WRT FC4 yet (nor have I downloaded the tests, perhaps I should try that?), but with the increase in SATA ATAPI drives, I hope this support will be in the mainline kernels come 2.6.12.
FYI, the SATA chipset I'm using is an onboard Silicon Image 3112, attached to an NForce2 Ultra chipset, on an Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo. I'm going to try the patch and see what happens, I'll report back when I find out.
