Well, as the title suggests, I am looking for a replacement battery for my Asus G751JM and am hoping someone here knows of a good brand!
I have tried to get a replacement from Asus, but, as it is an internal "non-user replaceable" battery, Asus does not sell the battery to consumers and requires that you RMA the product. Better yet, the representative I spoke to gave me an estimate of a whopping $690 replacement cost. $690.00!! That's half what the laptop cost me! Estimate or not, that's incredibly ridiculous.
So, here I am looking for a non oem replacement. All the ones I found had concerning reviews of instability and low quality, so I'm hoping someone here knows of a decent replacement!
I haven't had to replace the battery in my laptop but $690.00 is incredibly ridicolous!
You could buy a new laptop for that price.
You probably can't go wrong by getting a new battery from your local Best Buy.
In the past I have purchased hard drives, printers and other pc excessories from Best Buy and never had a problem returning anything.
I have checked with Best Buy, which is where I bought the laptop actually, and they don't carry replacements and were unable to find one. I had seen that one on Amazon but the lack of reviews (being 0) kind of dissuades me from purchase. The ones I found on Amazon with reviews seemed to have mixed reviews. A lot claiming shoddy quality in parts and not actually being able to power the laptop without a/c, which kind of defeats the purpose and I'm hesitant to put a low quality battery in a laptop I paid 1400 for. Especially an internal battery that cannot be removed quickly if needed.
Unfortunately microcenter does not carry it either. But thank you for your effort.
I did find one on Ebay that appears to be OEM, all numbers matching the one I've removed. It should be here soon!
Battteries are notoriously difficult to buy at a reasonable price.
Don't buy a cheap one as they are almost always a rip off part. I would suggest buying from a well known UK battery supplier.
In any case make sure you condition the new one properly so as to get the best from it.

I wish I had seen this before my purchase from Ebay! I like that it actually mentions that it's compatible with g751jm whereas the one I found mentions a number of other models that are nearly identical, but not mine specifically. Also the one you found seems to have a few more matching numbers that the one I found made no mention of. In any case, I think the one I purchased will work. But I guess we'll see.
The shipping is a little slow, it should be here around the middle of the month and I'll be sure to update with whether the battery works as expected.
Again, thank you all for your suggestions and resources. I really appreciate it
Okay so the battery got here well before the estimated delivery date and I have installed it and it seems to be working just fine. The only differences I could see between it and the original were the color of the wire coating on the 2 center wires, and a few numbers. Apart from that, it seems to be a good replacement. I will surely update again if things go south to hopefully help anyone else from making the same mistake
EDIT: one thing I have noticed so far, the battery icon in my panel (KDE), when clicked on shows the model as G751-60. Not sure what that means, if anything. It doesn't appear to be a laptop model number

The Asus G751 IS a laptop as you well know and that battery is a 90WH battery that fits it as well as other models.
Yes, I'm aware G751 is a laptop line, but there is no G751-60 model of the G751 series from what I can find. And it is actually an 88Wh battery, same as the one I removed
