alsa install errors

I'm still a noob when it comes to linux but I'm still trying. At the moment I'm trying to install alsa drivers (1.0.3). Everything complies fine and I modify /etc/modules.conf fine but when I try to inserting modules with modprobe it chokes. When I do

Code:
modprobe snd-ens1370; modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe snd-seq-oss
I get the error

Code:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1370.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1370.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1370.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1370.o: insmod snd-ens1370 failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/acore/seq/oss/snd-seq-oss.o: init_module: Device or resource busy

/lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/kernel/sound/acore/seq/oss/snd-seq-oss.o: insmod snd-seq-oss failed
Anyone know how I can fix this?

edit: I ran dmesg and I got:
Ensoniq AudioPCI soundcard not found or device busy
ALSA seq_oss.c:226: can't register device seq

I've done modprobe -r ens1370, isnt that supposed to disable it?

ok I fixed that part by just changing run level to 3 in inittab and then doing modprobe again but now I have a new error.

when I try to run alsamixer I get

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

I've run ./snddevices but still no luck

edit: FIXED IT... there was some screwiness in my /etc/modules.conf file. Fixed it and all is well.

Are you sure to have installed alsa-lib and alsa-utils too?
