add USB disk hardware

Hi all.
I am very new in linux.
I would like to copy something from my computer to usb memory disk.

I connect the disc at usb port but linux doesn't say nothing.

Anyway can somebody tell me how to add this new hardware to my linux operating system???

Thanks for any help!

Same problem here...


Actually I start my computer with the USB STICK plugged in but no luck... Linux won;t recognize it...


Any ideas?
