https://youtu.be/WNJqTPutrJ4 to compare the sounds. At the time I wasn't so much wishing for a stethoscope as a contact microphone. It's a simple and cheap device that acoustic guitarists sometimes use. It just clips on and would let you record as an mp3 or whatever, then that could be emailed.
