a frustrated linux user....

i am frustrated , i am stuck .. nowhere to go except going back to windows xp professional...

Here is my story.

for last 3 days i am tring to install my wintv go tv card on my linux suse 9.1 machine. But it does not work. i searched all over the web, posting in this forum and in google groups for help, and followed all suggestions given to me. Till now i put in 48 hours working on this thing. here are my postings.

Before i bought this tv card i research over the net i got a feeling that this card is widely used on linux machines. Also suse website shows it is fully supported

in google groups

After following the above and not getting any possitive results. I called Hauppauge support, but apparently they do not support linux.

As this card is fully supported by suse 9.1, I called up suse for help, they told they will help me with this. then i even asked for paid support $39 per incident, But is seems they cannot help me immediatly, so they asked to send a mail they support asking for advanced support.

Same thing happend when i tried to install linux on my machine. Here are the postings for that.

After all this my point is if i need to put at least 48 hours to install any new hardware or software, i thinks it is nuts..

so i am frustrated , i am stuck .. nowhere to go except going back to windows xp professional...

Thanks

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
