a frustrated linux user....
 
i am frustrated , i am stuck .. nowhere to go except going back to windows xp professional...

Here is my story.

for last 3 days i am tring to install my wintv go tv card on my linux suse 9.1 machine. But it does not work. i searched all over the web, posting in this forum and in google groups for help, and followed all suggestions given to me. Till now i put in 48 hours working on this thing. here are my postings.

Before i bought this tv card i research over the net i got a feeling that this card is widely used on linux machines. Also suse website shows it is fully supported

After following the above and not getting any possitive results. I called Hauppauge support, but apparently they do not support linux.

As this card is fully supported by suse 9.1, I called up suse for help, they told they will help me with this. then i even asked for paid support $39 per incident, But is seems they cannot help me immediatly, so they asked to send a mail they support asking for advanced support.

Same thing happend when i tried to install linux on my machine. Here are the postings for that.

After all this my point is if i need to put at least 48 hours to install any new hardware or software, i thinks it is nuts..

so i am frustrated , i am stuck .. nowhere to go except going back to windows xp professional...
