Question A different SBLive! - EMU10k1 issue

Setup: RH9, kernel 2.4.20-8 on Intel686, 1GB RAM, Asus P4-T, Soundblaster Live!, 3com 9c905B, NVidia Geforce3Ti200-128mb

My Soundcard stopped working properly after I had installed a SiteCom USB2.0 PCI card that also needed IRQ9. The first reboot after that I got a messages that for that session audio output would be redirected to /dev/null.

After a long & extensive trial and error period I decided to remove the USB2 device from my PC and relocate the SBLive! to another slot, resetting the BIOS settings to automatic for all PCI-slots (like before) and restart, because I can't get the sound back up like it should and I wanted to backtrace the problem.

Now the card is recognized at boottime, and the required modules are loaded (or so it seems).
Still, in my KDE/X environment (haven't tested in runlevel3) no single application manages to output sound at all, EXCEPT for Mozilla and some websites using (what I think is) flash/shockwave apps which produce sound like before. (Glad I at least know the hardware DOES work somewhat & somehow). "Detect Soundcard" produces no sound either, and in "Control Center - Information - Sound" all I get is "No information available about Soundcard". Tried switching to Gnome instead to see if KDE perhaps is at fault, but problem remained.

I have no clues left as to how to fix this issue and am about to do a clean RH9 install.... SIGH, the windows method. So good help appreciated.
See below the (I think) relevant sections of lsxxx commands and /var/log/messages

TIA
jan

I found these lines in /var/log/messages too at the last reboot just now. Helpful ???
(Anyone happen to know what the keyboard.c issue might be ?)

I gave up, and after I made a _stoopid_ mistake using parted I chose not to fix but reinstall.
Solved it now by disabling the onboard USB and move all USB devices to the USB2 card.
Sound is ok, and so is USB support now.
