3Com 3c556...

hi,
i have a Dell Latitude 600 and i got a combo modem
THe modem was 3Com PCI 3c556 Laptop Tornado and i am over here trying to figure out is there a driver for my combo modem.
Also, the strange thing was that i could use my 3com ethernet port very well. But linux just can't show my modem in 'neat' program.
But when i log in root and trying to do 'lspci' and linux did show everything about my modem correctly?
Is there anyone know what's the problem or is there a driver for me to install. So i could access my linux through linux?

here is a little information about my dell

$ uname -a
Linux ******** 2.4.20-8 ***************** i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

after i had run the List_modem program

3Com Mini PCI 56v Modem
3c556 v.90 Mini PCI
3Com PCI 3c556 Laptop Tornado

Vendor ID:10b7
Sub. System Vendor ID:10b7
Device ID:1007
Sub. Device ID:6156

I will appreciate for any answers!

after i post this thread. i e-mail the person who wrote this driver and he said he isn't going to write a driver for the modem part which could be very hard. so i think you better off buying a new serial external modem which was easiest thing to setup.
if you are tryiny to use the ethernet part, then it will work out.
