XFree86-4.2.0

I've just read the news on /. XFree86-4.2.0 is out. The main Xfree page has yet to be updated but it's on the download page. Check out the DOCS to see if there is something there for your hardware.

Cool. I should try and see if the XFree86 Accelerated GeForce3 drivers deliver better performance than the NVIDIA accelerated drivers.

Make sure you let us know if yuo got it working on your box. I was tempted to download it today and give it a shot but I finally got my GeForce2 working the way I want with 2.4.17 and didn't want to hose it.

How do you install the new version? Do you have to remove the older version first? My first time, please help.
