XFConfig help

hey all -
I just bought me a Proview LCD (the 15in from Circuit City), and I have no idea how to configure it correctly in X.

I can get a display working, at the correct resolution, but sometimes I get these random white lines and spots in konsole. Doing a google search led me to believe that this is probably a flaw in my timings, and that my manual would help me through it.

I don't know what to make of the manual, though, and where to put the relevant code. I've already changed the VertRefresh and HorizSync to match up the monitors specs, but I think I need to change something else as well.

The manual states this:
Code:
resolution horizontal vertical
720x400 31.47KHz 70Hz
640x480 31.47KHz 60Hz
640x480 37.86KHz 72.8Hz
... and so on...

Here's what a snippet from the modes section of XFConfig:
Code:
# 640x400 @ 70 Hz, 31.5 kHz hsync
Modeline "640x400" 25.175 640 664 760 800 400 409 411 450

Theres a whole lot more of those Modelines in the file, I used Xconfigurator to initially create the file.

I'm running X 4.1.0, Drake 8. NVidia GeForce256 Card, Proview LCD, (15 in Active Matrix LCD, VESA Standard Wall Mountable - Y 002-U00-AY15)

Any ideas on what I should do?

TIA
leo
