Kde doesn't start - "Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/XFConfig-4"

I am running SuSe linux 8.1 with Kde 3.0

I was trying to edit XFConfig to get my other mouse working (logged in as root on Kde) and I saw XFConfig-4 file. Thinking it wasn't important I deleted it. It seems it was an important file as Kde won't start now. What can I do about it?

at command prompt type :

and go through the steps of setting everything back up and it will generate a new one ..
you can even check in /etc/X11 and see if there was a backup copy that existed and name it XF86Config and see if works too ...

I managed to generate a new file ok but it still doesn't work. Gives the following:
xsetcoot: unable to open dislay ''
xset: unable to open display ""
xset: unable to open display ""
xset: unable to open display ""
ksplash: cannot connect to xserver
kdeinit: Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set
Warning: connect () failed: :No such file or directory
ksmserver: ccannot connect to xserver
Warning: connect () failed: :no such file or directory
Error can't contact kdeinit!

Typing xinit gives following message:

the error message says it:
Input Device section "Mouse[1]" must have a Driver line

use xf86config again and set up your mouse. If this doesn't work, you'll have to edit the file manually.
