Yes I had the same problem. Have a look in your ./configure output for a line like this

I installed the zvbi and ran ldconfig but it still won't build scantv (and that's all I wanted as I use mplayer for tv). I tried a make clean and make distclean and a few others to no avail. I gave up and copied the frequencies from the /frequencies folder into my mplayer source and rebuilt maplayer. All that just to get crappy Canadian cable.
