X windows

I am currently running SUSE Advanced server, and when I try and run either exceed or Refelection X, I cannot seem to do so.

Exceed / reflection X are 3rd part tools which will run xwindows on your windows box to emulate the console.

Is there anything I need to get running on the server for me to achieve this.

regards

Aslam

Is your SuSE system running xdm or some other equivalent?

Try telneting/SSHing into the system, setting the DISPLAY variable, and starting an xterm.

I can telnet/ftp to the server no problem, and I have also set my DISPLAY var and ran xhost + command.

I can use the reflection X / Exceed to log into the server as xterm only but I am not able to get the full cde/X-windows/kde to run.

The following the process for xdm :

/usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 -auth /var/lib/xdm/authdir/authfiles/A:0-9JJ7dH
