Angry X window redhat 7.2

I installed Redhat 7.2 recently on my laptop ( hp pavillio 5495 ). During intallation i chose the
graphical mode of installation. When it asked
me wether i wanted to configure X i told it to
skip. So now i always log into text mode. I then
upgraded my XFree86 to 4.2.0 by running a script
i down loaded from Xfree86.org. I want to start
X by entering startx at command prompt. I have
a XF86config file thats customised to my laptop
What should i do so that i am able to run kde
when i give startx and which files should i
change and where should i put the XF86Config file

OK, the XF86Config file is going into /etc/X11/ directory,
have you tried XConfigurator to configure your screen, video device, pointing device and keyboard? If no, run it to configure those. If you want kde to start when you startx, put .xinitrc file in your home directory, put the following line into this file
exec startkde
And see what happens.
