won't recognize CD's

Just installed Fedora Core 3. Used disks and CD ROM drive to do it, now it gives me "disk error" when I try to use audio disks or access data disks. ? any clues. I know that some drives need to be mounted but it won't let me mount when I right click on the desk top. Hopefully simple. Thank.s

You don't mount audio CD's, they don't contain any useful data.
