WindowMaker

Ok, i have sucessfully installed WindowMaker on my system just to try it out. I've been trying to figure out how to add it to the Sessions menu on the KDE startup. The readme mentions some KDE startup script, and i couldn't find any information about it on google or altavista. THX

hey, maybe the fact that you don't like window maker is that you've no idea how to use linux???

it's not JUST a command prompt, it's light weight, fast, easy to use and configrue, and doesn't have the junk that makes kde so annoyingly crap. You can so so much more productivity out of a console than you seem to be aware of. Maybe when you can aprreciate that, you'll undertand why wm's like window maker and black box are so popular.

till then, buy a BIG linux manual and enjoy kde slowing down your machine.

KDE is not slow okay, despite the mere 256MB of ram i have it still runs fast enough for me, only alittle bit slower than WindowsXP Corporate.

Sorry, its just that people told me about how windowmaker R0X and i believed them and they tricked me out...

i totally agree with bluecadet. i ran kde for awhile, but i noticed my cousin running window maker and gave it a try. MUCH BETTER. way easier to customize and you don't have any of the useless fluff that accompanies kde. perhaps this doubter should actually learn how to use window maker. if everyone ran away from challenges like that, then none of us would even use linux.

but hey, we can leave him to his ignorance, to go along with his kde bliss. :-)

Yeah i understand where your going and i didn't mean to diss WindowMaker as it is good for people who want a clean/lean and fast desktop.

I notice that my computer is so fast that KDE runs flawless. Windowmaker is even faster but not by a whole much...not enough to let me loose all the goodies like a panel bar.
