WindowMaker

Hi, I'm currently running Redhat 9 and have been looking for rpms on WindowMaker. I found the official website of WM and I followed the link to http://download.fedora.us/fedora/red...6/RPMS.stable/

There's an rpm (WindowMaker-0.80.2-0.fdr.6.i386.rpm) but isnt that for Fedora? I'm a bit confused between RH and FC. Can I download that rpm and install it on my RH 9 ? Thanx

yes, you can, since they are the same thing.

but, why would you want to use window maker, its a horrible, horrible screen manager (at least it was, last time i checked it out).

If you are looking for something other than kde or gnome, try icewm or some other light-weight manager.

Window maker is not that bad. It is quite nice on a laptop as it takes up little space and the key commands are quite good. Also, it uses much much less resources than gnome or kde. Usually I use Black box which uses even less resources and space. But to each his own....

I've used WindowMaker for 3 month. I was using Gnome before I tried WindowMaker. Since then I never want to use any other window manager other than WindowMaker. It's really fast and customizable.
