Well there is no standard either, but as much as I hate to say it Redhat is probably the most 'well known', ie. the one your most likely to find staff who have experience in, especially with their RHCE courses. Still many distros are very similar to Redhat and at the end of the day its all Linux, someone who's good with Redhat systems will very quickly become good with Debian or Suse systems.

This is why I recommend Fedora Redhat/fedora seems to be the standard distro in a business setting and like I said the books and such that are available make it easy to find info and have help always available even without a internet connection.
