What to do now?

I downloaded a file from the following website.
http://nvu.com/index.html
It is for creating web pages. The following is the name of the file.

nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end of the process of downloading, I noticed a lot of files in Ark.

It seems the downloaded ' nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2 ' file has automatically
expanded. Is this possible? How can I proceed now?

Try doing Start->Run->nvu or typing nvu in a console. First use 'cd' to get into the Nvu directory.

[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]# start
bash: start: command not found
[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]# run
bash: run: command not found
[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]# nvu
bash: nvu: command not found
[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]#

[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]# nvu
bash: nvu: command not found
[root@c83-250-91-34 nvu-1.0]

What is the problem?

tar xjf nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2
cd nvu*
./nvu
and works fine..

Thanks for the reply. It didn't work for me.
[ka@c83-250-91-34 ka]$ su root
Password:

[root@c83-250-91-34 ka]# cd /tmp
[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]# tar xjf nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2
tar (child): nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]# tar xjf 'nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2'
tar (child): nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]#

What is the problem?

One of the reason is that it is not there. I have already extracted it. I am clueless. What shall I do now?

hi there,
it is late here...
my mistake..
didn't see the format of your find...
you need to go here
Code:
cd $HOME/tmp
the file is in the "tmp" from the user not in the generic one..
sorry..
regards,
slackie1000

Thanks slackie. It is still fishy.

[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]# cd $HOME/tmp
[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]# 'tar xjf nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2'
bash: tar xjf nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2: command not found

[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]# tar xjf 'nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2'
tar (child): nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2: Cannot open: No such file or directory

tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
[root@c83-250-91-34 tmp]#

What is the problem?

hi there,
slowly now...
you don't need root access for that..
and forget the $HOME ...
go there - where you called the "find" command and do that..
Code:
cd tmp
tar xjf nvu-1.0-pc-mandriva10.1-gnu.tar.bz2
cd nvu-1.0
./nvu
regards,
slackie1000
