Can anyone tell me what EZ-BIOS is? What's the purpose of EZ-BIOS? Is it safe to my computer? Where can I get it?

EZ-BIOS is a software manipulation that allowes your computer to recognize more than 8 gigs it is distributed with maxtor Hard Drives and that is where I got my hands on it... unfortunatly when I installed it I could not load windows... I do not know how linux would be affected though because My linux in on a different box

I am currently using ezbios with a dual boot win98 / redhat 7.1 p200 machine, no sweat.

It's not the nicest solution in the world, but you've nothing much to loose by trying it. Just be careful abuot booting from floppy disks (only after bios is install should you state to boot from floppy)

Most importantly, you don't need it at all if your BIOS can handle large hard drives. Don't use it unless you have to.

I had the same problem, but didn't do it. My box is fine, and I dual boot with Win98 and RH7.1 Linux

I installed a 30 gig western digital hdd to a friends comp (a 133 MHz packard bell) and it came with EZ-BIOS but I found it stupid.. the thing is he only wanted it for a slave so I just deleted all the partitions on the harddrive and formatted to a fat-32.. although his bios see's it as a smaller drive, in windows its 30 gigs and thats all he wants..
