Question What is causing these alsa errors?


I keep getting these error messages at bootup:

Running modules-update...

Modules are not compiled for kernel loaded.

Don't know anything about your distro or how you installed it. Building your own kernel and installing it with modules will certainly fix it. However, there may be a way to (re)install the kernel using the tools provided by your distro. Don't know. I always build my kernels manually.

I'm using Gentoo. The thing is the kernel was built with the alsa driver in it. I have sound when the system boots up.

What happened to get these errors was that I actually forgot that I had built the driver in to the kernel and then I tried to emerge the drivers (with: emerge alsa-drivers)

After I rebooted I started getting these errors at bootup. The modules look like they are trying to load... I just want to be able to comment them out where ever they are so they don't try to load up.
