what do i need to get a display of my computer specs. on desktop
I've seen on many screen shots from other Linux users a small thing in the corner or on the top or bottom of their screen their is some little program running that tells them the computer specs, temp and processes how do i get that utility?
It looks like you're using Suse. I think in Suse you just install programs using Yast. There should already be a repository setup in Yast that you used during install. Just open Yast and search for gkrellm.
EDIT: Sorry, I'm not a Suse user so I could be blowing smoke...
Internet connection is required if you don't have the package you want on some other media, of course. Good chance gkrellm (I use it too) is available on the media that has your SUSE distro.
