I just installed VLOS 1.1 (Vida Linux)on ASROCK k7S41GX Sempron 2200+ at 1.5 ghz, 512m DDR,60g HD.. Installation was a breeze and the Distro looks promising BUT I have no sound at all. Not even with the CD Player. Driver ANYone???
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I will do some reading and research and try and find out how to do it. I have not gotten a good grasp on working in Linux. I have made attempts to get into it for a couple of years but never had the time to get a good understanding of how to do the mods and stuff to Linux. Therefore, I have yet to get a 100% working system. I dislike Microsoft but I am used to being able to just install and go (maybe install a driver or two but they are usually on CD and self install) . I am spoiled. I was really into the innner workings of Apple II days and on to CP/M. I have to learn all over again. But anyway thanks and I will try get it going again.

You should have an icon that looks like a monitor with a seashell in the right bottom corner. Open that up, you should have something resembling a dos prompt that looks similar to this.

From there type in the commands then copy and paste the output here.
good luck.
