Sound is missing(Kmix)...

In the distro I'm using I can hear sound perfectly in KDE when I log in as root, but when I log in as user, nothing is heard plus I cannot find Kmix! How can I fix this?

You need to add your user account to the audio group. You need to go to the 'Security and Users' section of Yast and then click edit and create groups. Press the 'Set Filter' combo box button and select 'System groups'. This should display a long list of groups, one of which will be audio. Find the audio group in the list, select it and press the edit button. This will launch a window containing a large list called 'members of this group', scroll down this list until you find your username and put a tick in the check box by your name. Press 'next' to save your settings. I'm whether this will start straight away or you may need to logout and then log back in for the settings to take effect
