Unwanted Option at Bootup

I used to have a dual boot system (Ubuntu and Windows 7). I wanted to ditch Ubuntu for Linux Mint. I uninstalled Ubuntu but the option to boot into it is still visible. I want Linux Mint and Windows 7 to be the only options. I am not sure if this is a Linux related question or not, but I've tried elsewhere and received no luck .

Thank you for your time,
Alex

Yes run it only once on the command line of linux mint
I suppose you first install Mint before uninstalling Ubuntu

If UBUNTU is really uninstalled than it can not be possible that after running sudo update-grub you still find the UBUNTU option , because that command I give you generate a new grub.cfg with is you're new menu.lst
It is only possible if UBUNtu kernel is still there
Beside that during the time you run that command it also show you the OS it finds

Thanks, ronlau9, that command worked for a similar problem I was having after re-installing Slackware dual booting with Mint.
