Smile Uninstall Ubuntu - Keyboard Problems

Hello! I am trying to uninstall ubuntu 7.04 and reinstall windows xp (not a personal choice, need to give the computer to a family member). When I restart the computer with the XP disk in the drive it says "Press any key to boot from CD...." no matter what I press, linux eventually loads. I first thought that since my keyboard is wireless, it wasnt detecting it for some reason. However, if I press "delete", I can still access the BIOS menu. Any suggestions? I thought about making a DOS floppy but then realized that I cant run .exe files in Ubuntu and therefore cannot create one.

Thanks alot.

For some reason it your xp cd is not booting. Check that the disc is clean. If you have another pc to hand, check the disc in that.

You can download bootdisks from here: http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml

Also make ensure that your BIOS boots from the CD first. It seems that it is, but never hurts to look/verify.

If re-installing XP causes any problems (e.g. hangs during it's search for hardware), I have found that a workaround for this is to boot into the linux distro and wipe-out the partitions using 'fdisk', then re-booting with the XP disk in the DVD/CD-ROM drive.
