I've been trying to login to a cygwin computer all afternoon.
I have sshd running. I can log into other linux machines on my network from the cygwin machine.
I can log into the cygwin machine using the username 'cyg_server'.
/etc/passwd file should be okay.
Cygwin is a little funny. When I check the 'users' command nothing comes up.
Is it true the cygwin is just using my Windows user account information? (The usernames are the same, it's been a long time since I installed it). I'm pretty sure my Windows user doesn't have a password. Tried it both ways; with the password I would have used if I had been prompted to set one up; and blank (no password).
I tried adding the line to /etc/sshd_config:
Code:
PermitEmptyPasswords yes
but it doesn't seem to have allowed me to log in.
