I am a newbie in Linux, today i was trying to make a backup image of my POS system using CloneZilla, but unfortunately it doesn't turn out to be good. The backup process finished instantly. I checked my USB hard drive and nothing has been created, but when i try to boot into my POS system. It gives me the following error. Anyone can help?

Clonezilla tends to work best on making a copy for use in backup. It doesn't do well (only because of limits on linux) to new hardware. If you moved this install to a different type hard drive then there may be a number of things you will have to do. Some installs don't have the ability to boot from usb.
Hi Keruskerfuerst, I was trying to build an image of my Linux-based Point of Sales system using Clonezilla, unfortunately it screwed up the original machine.

Hi Jefro,
Ya it is a linux-based Point of Sales system, i was trying to build an image for backup, but it screwed up my original machine. I noticed that the system has been configured in RAID 1 array, and is running on ReiserFS, GRUB 0.92/0.97 (legacy)?, and /dev/md0 changed to /dev/md127. It was supposed to boot from /dev/sha1
Clonezilla selects one of two ways to copy. One is to use file by file and then save drive config in a file to restore.
Two is a bit by bit like dd.
When you copied I assume it copied file by file as it should have been able to read the files.
Every reference now will be wrong from grub to fstab and nic I'd assume.
You may have to set this up in a virtual machine for more testing I'd think. At least you could create a similar machine if we assume it is a common hardware to begin with.
