Exclamation Ubuntu scew up after Update...

I tried to update my ubuntu last night, from a 8.4 to a 9.1 and all went well until the computer had to restart. When the computer rebooted it wouldn't leave the start up screen. My first thought was that one of the pakages were broken, but as i want through to find it, well I didn't find it. I am able to go through my original download, but i am unable to use my touchpad. (its a laptop btw) Does any one know how I can go through and take the recent update off? Or is there somehthing else I am missing?

I've been busy moving and away from LQ for a while. Did this get sorted out?
