Post Troubleshooting StartX

When starting RH Linux 8, my graphical login screen appears. I login as ROOT with PW and then am presented with a dialog window that says my session has ended in less than 10 seconds.

Clicking the "View details (~/.xsession-errors file)" button at the bottom, shows the following:

rm: cannot remove '.' or '..'
rm: cannot remove '.' or '..'
Not enough free disk space on /tmp

HELP!!!!

speaks for itself i'd guess, how much free space is there in /tmp? switch to anotyher terminal (ctrl alt f) and login there, and see what df says about free space available. if there isn none, then you need to make some!

df shows that I have plenty of space available on all mounted filesystems. Anything else I should check?
