SuSE Q- how to make a boot disk


Trying to use Yast to make a boot disk but when I make my selection the following error message returns: "Boot Image selection not found on installation medium". Can someone please tell me what this is saying and how to correct it...thanks

Mount your first install CD. Then what the message means is that YaST cannot find /media/cdrom/disks/bootdisk. Why? I don't know. Maybe the CD is not mounted. Maybe YaST is on lunch break.

You can create the boot floppy yourself as root by mounting the CD, inserting a floppy in /dev/fd0, and using the command:

dd if=/media/cdrom/disks/bootdik of=/dev/fd0

I ran SuSE for 3 years and I preferred to create lilo boot floppies as described in section 8 of this tutorial:
