hi all,

what is smartd? how can i use it??? i have it but, it wont get started. why??? any ideas to troubleshoot it.. thanks.....

It's a hard drive monitoring tool -- do a Google for S.M.A.R.T. for more information, or type "man smartd" (no quotes) at the command line. If it's not starting. chances are it's either not correctly detecting your hard drive or you have a hard drive that doesn't support S.M.A.R.T.
