Smartd Fails

i am so annoyed i decide to go from a perfect redhat 9 system to fedora and on a clean install the smartd fails every time. i have been searching the internet for hours and came up with that because i have scsi drives only i need to edit the /etc/startd.conf file to say sda not hda. i have played around with that file all day and cant get it i see more then one hda if tried changing them all.

sys specs
2 ssci hard drives 120 gig (maxtor)

PLEASE HELP

Brian
