Slackware internet sharing

I want to thanks all the people that helped me before. i got my x window working.

some how i cannot seem to configure my slackware 9.0 as gateway/router to share internet connection with windows 2000. i can ping ip 192.168.1.1 from windows, but cannot surf the net, or ping www.yahoo.com from DOS in windws comes back with unknown error. eth1 which is lan is up, so is eth0.

Have you added your ISP's DNS to your /etc/resolv.conf?

Your /etc/resolv.conf should look like this:

nameserver IP

Of course, remplacing IP for your ISP's DNS, you can add more than one namserver, if you want to.

You didn't say what you tried to do to get it working. You could try http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/IP-Masquerade-HOWTO/.
