hello all,
i'm attempting to get sendmail configured on my machine so that i can use it as my primary mail server. here are my details:
i have a network consisting of various linux machines (mostly slackware 8) which have internet access through a cable modem running on a linksys router. i have a domain pointing to my cable IP (using DNS servers elsewhere), so i would like to use an email addy for my domain (example:
root@mydomain.com).
i'd like to use pine to access my mail from the machine which will be running sendmail. i've managed to get as far as being able to send mail to any internal or external address, but my e-mail addy shows up as "root@localhost.localdomain" (or whatever my host/domain are).
so my question... how can i setup sendmail to use "root@mydomain.com" and not the local info? plus, does anyone know of any good documentation, tutorials, or how-tos out there which deal with setting up and configuring sendmail?
i appreciate it. thanx. :-)
