Screen size > monitor size

HEy guys, I've been searching everywhere and found similar posts on other forums of people with the same problem I'm having, but no solutions, so I'm hoping you guys can give me a hand.

Im running an Nvidia ION LE video chipset, HDMI out to a Sharp 42" 1080p LCD.

The resolution, 1920x1080p works fine, except the screen size is larger than the monitor, as such, about 3% of my monitor is cut off all around, leaving me without the menu bar at the top, or the taskbar at the bottom.

Its my media pc, and I'm running Boxee, and inside Boxee there is an option to offset the screen, or "shrink it to fit". When I select 3%, it fits /PERFECTLY/, but as soon as I exit Boxee it goes back to normal, and I'm unable to use my machine as a proper web-browsing, etc. computer.

It's important to note that moving the mouse to the edges does not move the screen and reveal the menu bars.

Most screens will have an OSD menu that lets you move, shrink, skew etc. the picture on the screen.

and, easier, auto-synchronise. OP: do you have a user guide for the Sharp 1080p?
