removed Desktop folder

I accidentally deleted my Desktop folder, so I created a new folder but now when files and folders are put in the folder, they are not displayed on the Desktop.

Is there a certain attribute that needs to be set in order to make it operate as it should?

Thanks

Where did you create the new folder? My Desktop folder is in /home/myname/ Id does not display on my open desktop. If I open Konqueror, it is visable if I navigate to /home/myname/ As far as permissions go, mine is set to user can read, write and enter. Group and Other have no permissions at all.

All that appears in my Desktop folder is the Waste bin and one other folder I created.

Hope this helps.

Before I deleted the folder, I was able to put files and folders in this folder, which would then be displayed on the desktop. The folder is rwx, group and owner are set as my username.

It should work the same but it doesn't seem to want to cooperate.
